BREAST CLINIC

Multidisciplinary approach

The breast clinic operates based on international guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer (triple assessment). Multidisciplinary approach is utilised involving experts in breast radiology, pathology, oncology, radiotherapy and plastic surgery.

Yearly breast check-up can be performed including history, clinical examination and assessment of mammograms as well as ultrasound scans.

Counselling and follow-up of high risk women. Women with a family history of breast cancer are at slightly increased risk. The importance varies according to the number of affected relatives, their age when they were diagnosed, and how closely related they are to you.

Assessment and management of palpable and non-palpable breast lesions including biopsies under ultrasound or mammogram guidance (stereotactic or vacuum assisted when indicated).

We offer a broad spectrum of breast surgical operations. Oncoplastic surgery techniques are utilised in order to provide the best cancer treatment and cosmetic outcome. Sentinel lymph node biopsy or axillary lymph node clearance is used in breast cancer cases depending on indications.

Immediate or delayed reconstruction after mastectomy can be offered in collaboration with high specialised plastic surgeons.

In collaboration with the rest of the members of the multidisciplinary team we offer tailored preoperative and postoperative management and follow-up.
